Biggest Chemistry Experiment in International Chemistry Year Celebration 2011

"Chemistry - our life, our future"-the slogan of the International Year of Chemistry 2011 -
In 2011 this is a very historic year for researchers, scientists, academics, practitioners, as well as chemical lovers around the world because of UNESCO and IUPAC has set this year as the International Year of Chemistry 2011 (International Year of Chemistry / IYC 2011).
Since it opened officially on January 27, 2011 in UNESCO headquarters in Paris, France, has scheduled a variety of celebration events this 2011 International Year of Chemistry. One of the events is quite phenomenal is the holding of the world's largest chemical experiments which were held simultaneously around the world on March 22, 2011.
Experiments in the world's largest chemical entitled "Water: A Chemical Solution", which is planned to cater for all school students around the world by focusing on the study of local water situation in each country and chemical technology solutions to address problems of water supply and drinking water around the world. Global experiments of this kind will support the objectives of the International Year of Chemistry 2011, whereby one of them is to increase enthusiasm for the younger generation towards the sciences, particularly chemistry.
This experimental module tailored to the age, interests, and abilities of students. Both children and teenagers can do this experiment yourself, or accompanied by parents, teachers, and school friends. This experiment is also quite cheap because it uses simple equipment, even at no cost at all. Some of the experiments to be performed is the measurement of water pH, salinity (salt content) water, dirty water processing using home-made filters, and distillation.
Global chemical experiment is expected to support the development and application of chemical technologies in various fields, particularly in the application of environment-based industries. This experiment is also expected to increase awareness, interest and ability of younger generations in the future in implementing environment-friendly chemical technology.
If you wish to participate in this global event, please visit the link from the official site IYC 2011 in below to find out more about ceremony and this global experiment module.
